Society of Automotive Engineers, Tezpur University, a collegiate chapter of SAE India was established in June 2012 with the collective effort of a group of students who had strong urge to complement the theoretical knowledge imparted in classroom, with emphasis on the practical aspects of engineering. With the initial strength of 50 members, now the club has witnessed the registration of more than 90 members. Being the largest collegiate club of entire North-East region this club has members from the entire gamut of engineering of Tezpur University which is a milestone in itself. It provides a platform to students to share and increase their engineering know-how through increased interaction between students at all levels, group activity, lectures, workshops, rainstorming sessions and many institute level competitions. With the prime motto to develop the automotive culture in the university, we hope that SAE Tezpur University will act as a strong bond between industries and university.
The objects of this Central University as envisaged in the statutes are that it shall strive to offer employment oriented and interdisciplinary courses to meet the regional to national aspirations and the development of the state of Assam and also offer courses and promote research in areas which are of special and direct relevance to the region and in the emerging areas in Science and Technology
The Society is a standards development organization for the engineering of powered vehicles of all kinds, including cars, trucks, boats, aircraft and others. SAE under its banner organise a number of events for automobile enthusiats all over world. These competitions test teams in a number of parameters of automobile design.
SAEINDIA is an affiliate society of SAE International registered in India as an Indian nonprofit engineering and scientific society dedicated to the advancement of mobility industry in India.
