INSA’s 77th Meeting at Tezpur University

The Indian National Science Academy ( INSA), the premier Science Academy, organized its 77th Anniversary Meeting at Tezpur University during December 28-30 20011. The event was held for the first time in the North- East. Distinguished academicians and scientist from all over India and abroad attended the Meeting. Issues of topical importance, broadly on Science and Technology As well as Humanities were deliberated upon in various symposium by some of the eminent scholars who attended the meeting. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. M.K Chaudhuri, Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University, while Krishna Lal, President INSA also welcomed the participants. Dr. Lal was highly appreciative of the University’s Infrastructure. On the inaugural day a special lecture on Culture/Heritage of North- east was delivered by Sahitya Academy awadree Prof. . Nagen Saikia. A film “ Leaf and Belief” was presented by Tezpur District Mahila Samity.
